Oil continues to wash ashore all along the Gulf Coast, and up to 100,000 barrels of toxic crude continue to flow into the ocean every day, a hundred times more than the initial oil spill admission by BP and twenty-five times the initial government estimate. The results are a unparalelled loss of marine wildlife and their ecosystem . Fragile wetlands are being decimated, as well as many residents’ jobs and ways of life. While such loss cannot yet be calculated , oil spill lawyers in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi are digging in, pouring that extra cup of coffee and working hard on the host of oil spill lawsuits being filed. Most lawsuits are targeting BP, Transocean (the operator of the vessel whose explosion started the spill) and other companies affiliated with the Transocean Deepwater Horizon.

Attorneys estimate hundreds of thousands of residents and businesses in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida are seeking compensation . So far, oil spill lawsuits include fishermen, charter boat captains, resort management companies and individual property owners. The economic hardship due to unemployment and loss of rental income is staggering. President Obama makes connections between this oil spill – the worst environmental disaster of all time – and the terrorist attacks of 9/11 for good reason; this is not just an environmental crisis, it is a human rights crisis. People’s lives have radically changed for the worse as both their cultures and economies are destroyed. Families that have relied for generations on the fishing industries face an uncertain future. Native Americans living on “water cities” in the Gulf are being forced to move and will likely to lose their way of life. The State of Florida reports over 3,000 jobs lost.

The government is responding to the rights of legitimate claims. David Axelrod, of the Obama administration said , “We want to make sure that money is escrowed for the legitimate claims that are going to be made and are being made by businesses down in the Gulf, people who have been damaged by this. And we want to make sure that money is independently managed so that they won’t be slow-walked on these claims.” Although recent news reports are showing fishermen’s oil spill claims are being paid slowly and may not match the amount of lost income.

This demand by the Obama White House strengthens existing and future claims – both civil and class action oil spill lawsuits. Currently there are at least 26 potential class action lawsuits being filed, representing many thousands of people. Those in similar situations can band together to claim financial losses due to company negligence. Despite the establishment of the $20 billion British Petroleum fund for paying oil spill claims, many who have applied have yet to even receive notification that their claim has been acknowledged, let alone be paid. With money ready to be paid out, when will the oil spill claims process catch up with the cash?

Top Topics of Today and Yesterday is living testimony that there actually is zilch new under the sun. Case in point the weird circumstances of Houston, Texas, flight center of tomorrow…and yesterday…

The World of the Now

My how times change. Deem the planet illustrious oil fields of Carpinteria… From the carpinteriabluffs.org internet site sometime in 2009, we uncover this excerpt: Numerous inside our modest district of Carpinteria are at present outraged that Venoco is trying to bypass the City and the complete remaining community environmental examination of their application to the City of Carpinteria on behalf of a sanction to erect a 175 foot from top to bottom drilling rig resting on its present onshore spot not far from the Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve and the Viola Playing Fields. This oil and gas expansion project could have serious and signficant environmental impacts upon the Bluffs as well as, of course, upon the larger Carpinteria community.

In February, 2009, Venoco tried to deposit a Venoco Oil Drilling Initiative on the ballot to bypass any additional civic considerations on the subject of their plan. Yet, the City Attorney for Carpinteria has challenged the legality of this initiative, a challenge which we tend to support, as does our legal team at the Environmental Defense Center. The challenge is set to come before Judge Anderle on April 7, 2009 at 9:30 AM.

Once upon a time the Carpinteria oil fields had been looked on in a different way. Well, that and the other oil rigs in California as well. Did you get that the “amount <of money> earned out of oil in Southern California is bigger than that gotten from the entire citrus crop? Or used to be… until California went green and ruined.

The World of the Then

Historical information out of the Los Angeles Herald, a newspaper doomed to extinction in 1911. The information below rewritten, keeping the indispensable meaning. August 13, 1907.

BIG MONEY IN OIL NOW $1.00 A BARREL NEW COMPANY HAS WELLS IN VENTURA COUNTY

Area Covers Nearly 5000 Acres — Drilling of Wells Is in Progress. Asphaltum Beds Found

It is not generally well-known that the amount made from oil in Southern California is larger than that earned from the entire citrus crop. In January of the current year oil was selling at fifty cents a barrel, while the price at the wells today is $1 a barrel, with every likelihood of a slight increase. This increase is a normal and permanent one and is predicated solely on the law of supply and demand. Considerable amounts of oil have been and are still being shipped en route for Japan and other eastern countries, and this in part accounts for the advance in price.

Every existing oil rig inside the state is running and the oil well supply corporations will not assure delivery of stuff
under sixty days. All the oil producing corporations are operating to the full extent of the funds at their command and
are putting as many rigs to work as the supply folks can equip. The fields in operation are Santa Maria, Bakersfield, Colinga, Olinda, Whittier, Santa Paula, Bardsdale, Piru and Newhall, and new companies are starting business right along and brand new fields are being developed.

New Company Organized

Among the businesses that have just been organized intended for the intention of producing oil is the San Miguelito Ranch
Oil company, whose land is situated in the southwestern part of Ventura county, a county which still holds its own
as the greatest oil producing portion in the nation. The San Miguelito ranch, sometimes referred to as the Taylor ranch, covers an area of 4795.94 acres, surrounded by land that has yielded great quantities of oil in the past few years. The drilling of wells has already been begun and professionals reckon that every well drilled to a penetration of 1800 feet on the San Miguelito ranch should without difficulty generate 6000 barrels of oil a month. These professionals examined the acreage a little bit ago and were undivided in the belief that It was the most advantageous bit of oil land within the complete county.

It is resting on the same anticlinal plus in a direct procession with a number of of the supreme strikes and developed properties which
are at this time yielding excellent profits. For example, the prominent. Carpinteria oil fields are barely a little distant from the San Miguelito ranch, and its same strata has been traced right through the latter.

Shipping to the Orient

In view from the shortage of oil at the current occasion and the yet escalating demand for the product, it is gratifying to
know of the chance of an additional strike being completed. All signs indicate that there will be a sizeable current of high
gravity oil, each gallon of which will be without difficulty marketed.

The demand for oil by the orient is becoming greater and greater all the time, and the Japanese administration is equipping its warships with oil burning engines. They are believed to be accumulating great stocks, and every additional producing well will be a welcome and particularly worthwhile thing for the public of California.

The San Miguelito Ranch Oil corporation has the gain that comes out of its property being located at tidewater, as a result permitting a gravity flow of the oil in pipe lines in the direction of the wharf. The expenditure for cartage and pipe lines can as a result be reduced to a minimum, an benefit which small number of other companies enjoy.

Asphaltum and Gas

Asphaltum beds resting on this same property will additionally act as a different source of substantial profit. Immediate procedures will be taken to develop these deposits, as there is all the time a eager and energetic mandate for asphaltum. Gas is the third valuable product that can be available in great amounts from this virgin fragment of property. In reality, gas will be one of the company’s durable aspects. There are plentiful blowout on the property; it is claimed the biggest in the state is on this
section. The easiest assessments, it is testified, demonstrate that gas is there appearing in boundless amounts, ready to be tanked and piped for business-related use.

Here at Top Topics of of Today and Yesterday we’re deliriously excited to bring you the world reports from conservative California, the western oil hub of the country, and a state not frightened to obtain what is lawfully hers out of the underlying strata of the very dirt itself, never wasting one instant on the impact to the polar bears.

Top Topics of Today and Yesterday is written by the dynamic panel of Norm and Vicky Morrison, miners of huge reports from the gone for the world of tomorrow. Their most recent works take in a heartbreaking website concerning the travails and antics of the Stock Market. It’s a tear jerker and should not be missed! This is on the heels of their planet celebrated and award winning Dog Flea website!

Are you looking for the best electronic cigarette? Have you heard everyone say they have the best electronic cigarette, well, they will all say that theirs is the best electronic cigarette, but, you have to do your research and find out who has the best electronic cigarette. Smokeless cigarettes, electric cigarettes, electronic cigarette, e-cig, or e-cigarette, no matter what they call it or you call it they are all the same and all basically work the same.

If you’re looking to cut down or trying to quit smoking then you should try an electric cigarette, they are very helpful to help you try to kick the habit. Maybe visit the web-site want2quitsmoking.com and check out what they have to offer. They have disposable electric cigarettes, rechargeable electric cigarettes, a wide variety of chargers and options for smokeless cigarettes. Your family and friends and you yourself will appreciate the fact that you are trying to better yourself by cutting down or quitting smoking regular tobacco cigarettes.

Now with most states banning regular tobacco cigarettes in bars and restaurants it’s a pain to have to step outside to grab a puff or two on a cigarette to take the edge off, but, if you have a smokeless cigarette you could sit there and get your nicotine fix right there at your table or take it into the restroom and no one will complain, because there is no smoke, no tobacco, no second hand smoke, and no ashes, just this little cigarette looking device that you inhale and blow out a vapor, no offense to anyone. And you also don’t get all the thousands of chemicals that regular tobacco cigarettes have. Electric cigarettes or smokeless cigarettes are becoming very popular in today’s world because they are so much safer than regular tobacco cigarettes. So you need to check out the site want2quitsmoking.com and see if the electric cigarette or smokeless cigarettes are right for you and your lifestyle.

Take care of your e cig. Do not wash it or drop it like is was just a pen or ball. Treat it like your phone or your laptop computer. It will last longer and will make you love it even more. If you can get a old fasion cigarette pack so you can carry it and now lose it in your purse or in your car. Both things have happened to me. Respect the e cig. E smoke out! Yes I said that. Lolololol

Salares Lithium Inc. (TSX VENTURE:LIT) (the “Company”) is pleased to report the results of additional transient electromagnetic surveys (“TEM”) completed at its ‘Salares 7′ project (“Project”) in Region III, Chile. Additional surveys are now completed on and adjacent to Salar de Aguilar and Salar Grande. The Company has now completed TEM surveys on the northern portion of Salar de la Isla, Salar de las Parinas, Salar de Aguilar and Salar Grande.

The combined TEM results on the Project to date have identified a substantial increase in the volume of the brine bearing aquifer / reservoir rock. The cumulative survey results show a 31% increase, from 3.64 to 4.77 billion cubic metres, of the reservoir rock when a cut-off of 1 ohm/metre is applied. When the resistivity cut-off level is increased to 2 ohm/metres the reservoir volumetric increases 100% taking the calculated reservoir rock volume from 9.4 to 18.8 billion cubic metres.

TEM surveys are yet to be completed on Salar de Amarga and the southern portion of Salar de la Isla.

The TEM surveys have been carried out by Geodatos SAIC (“Geodatos”) of Santiago, Chile. Previous work by Geodatos using TEM surveys has resulted in the confirmation of the presence of high conductivity, salt saturated brines. The TEM surveys are designed to define the size and extent of the reservoir rock and in-situ brine pool within the salares. The majority of the world’s lithium production comes from salars, or salt lakes, where prospective lithium mineralization is generally hosted in brine horizons.

TEM Results from Aguilar and Grande

Using the results obtained from the survey (approximately 70 line km) on Salar de Aguilar and Salar Grande, Geodatos has constructed a three dimensional model of the distribution of the interpreted brine bearing horizons.

Using a resistivity cut-off of 1 ohm/metre (interpreted by Geodatos as probable brine), Geodatos has calculated the brine bearing horizon or reservoir rock to have an aquifer volume of 1.14 billion cubic metres. Using a resistivity cut-off of 2 ohm/metres (interpreted by Geodatos as possible brines) the calculated aquifer volume of this horizon is 9.4 billion cubic metres.

Cumulative TEM Results to Date for the Salare 7 Project

Using a resistivity cut-off of 1 ohm/metre (interpreted by Geodatos as probable brine), Geodatos has calculated the brine bearing horizon or reservoir rock within the surveyed portion of the Project to date to have an aquifer volume that has increased from 3.64 to 4.77 billion cubic metres. Using a resistivity cut-off of 2 ohm/metres (interpreted by Geodatos as possible brines) the calculated aquifer volume of the horizon substantially increases from 9.4 to 18.8 billion cubic metres. The cumulative results represent a 31% increase of probable brine and a 100% increase of possible brine when compared to the previous combined TEM results of northern la Isla and las Parinas.

“We are extremely pleased with the results of these additional surveys that have identified a substantial increase to our aquifer’s reservoir rock or possible production zone. Based on the results and experience to date, we would expect that additional surveys to be completed could increase the known reservoir size”, stated Todd Hilditch, CEO.

In order to determine the actual brine content and eventual resource of this host/reservoir rock, information relating to the porosity, permeability and grade will be required from drilling and sampling.

About Geodatos Lithium Stock

The TEM geophysics programs are being carried out by Geodatos, a well known Chilean geophysics company with broad international experience. Pertinent to the Company’s needs is that Geodatos has experience and has conducted surveys at the lithium rich Salar de Atacama, located approximately 200 kms north of the Company’s Project.

If you are interested in getting to know how solar energy works and reducing a little from your home energy bill, facts about solar energy will help you. Solar energy is a inexhaustible resource and of the oldest method of energy consumption that is available at present. The critical fact about solar energy is that the sun s beams are so powerful that if we are to convert that into energy it would mean that Earth will never run out of energy for at least another four point five billion years according to scientists. The sun does not create any other hazardous by products which could harm the natural environment.

During the early fifties solar energy was looked upon as an alternative to man made energy resources. Through some research it was found energy could be received at much cheaper source. With a constant figure of 20% – 25% demand growth year-by-year, the solar energy demand increases for last two decades. Solar energy is able to support home appliances, lighting and water heaters. As of the minute, solar energy is more heavy priced but in the near future with the growth in scientific researches, it will bring down the costs and also increase its efficiency. Solar energy is to generate 2.5% of the world s energy use by 2025. Solar energy is the fastest growing technology.

There are some fundamental facts about solar energy that one needs to be acquainted to; solar energy is measured in kilowatt hours and 1 kilowatt=100 watts. One kilowatt hour is equal to the amount of electricity which is needed to burn 100 watt light bulb for approximately 10 hours. 866 kilowatt is the use by an average American household. The Residential Energy consumption Survey conducted in 2001 shows that an annual energy bill was around $2000.

A reduction in unit costs has contributed towards an growth in growth rates and thereby making it an important energy resource. After year 2000, solar energy has shown a growth rate of 40% per annum. Solar energy is going at a progressive rate in the developing countries too as the use of fossil fuel has doubled over the years. When compared to solar energy which is infinite, fossil fuel holds are lessening. Setting up solar energy gadgets is relatively easier in the more remote areas in comparison for setting up an expensive power grid structure. A disadvantage of fossil fuels is that the prices have risen together with the price of transporting coal, oil and gas.

The world is a dangerous place and with all these crimes being committed everywhere it’s no wonder that everyone wants to have insurance. It’s not that you want to have insurance but it has become a necessity of life. But even so, don’t just throw your money out the window because you don’t want the hassle of having to look for the best offer.

But can you truly dedicate enough time as to find the best fitted insurance for you? And above that, you could spend days going from insurance company to insurance company to check out their offers. The best way to save time when looking for insurance is to compare insurance quotes over the internet.

Because everyone needs insurance, many such insurance comparison sites appeared in hopes to deliver the best comparison services and win the most visitors. Thousands and thousands of visitors come to these sites every day to get their insurance quotes and rates online.

For people with precious little time to spare, shopping over the internet for their insurances is extremely efficient and easy. These sites do not only show policy prices but also the detailed data for each and every one of the policies.

The best thing is that you can do the entire searching form home, without having to actually go to the companies physically. But there is another big advantage with these sites; you can also check the insurance companies’ background. However, when searching for insurance quotes, be sure to check out the insurance companies as well. You could save yourself the trouble of having to search for another insurance company after a few months if the company you buy from now will go under. So doing a little bit of research can only benefit you in the long run. Try to find an insurance company that has aged well in the market and won’t go under in the next few months. Also, be extra careful as there are many companies that try to scam people.

When searching for insurance offers online you will be better off visiting sites that specialize in comparing insurances rather that the insurance sites themselves. By doing so you ensure that you will get the best insurance that your money can buy.

When searching online for insurance comparisons, keep in mind that you may qualify for cheaper premiums based on the area you live in or on your age. Living in areas that are safe from criminal activity is definitely a plus.
